Today seemed like it was full of contradictions. On the one hand, Hitomi didn't have to go to the host club. On the other, when she could have gone home, she ended up having to stay at school because her history teacher had just assigned a massive project to be done and had paired up the students in the class. The students would now have to go work on said projects immediately, as they were due at the end of the week. Or at least, the smart students would go work on the projects as soon as class ended. There really was no point in slacking off, as it only made the final project less than satisfactory.
Finally, class was dismissed, and so with the foreboding aura of a large and unfinished project wavering around her, Hitomi began to pack up her bag. She had planned on going home and working on a new dance she'd been choreographing for a party that was coming up, but instead, she'd probably be stuck in the library researching or something. Oh well, at least if she had a competent partner, she'd be able to get this project done in a reasonable amount of time- maybe it'd only take a few nights after school instead of the whole week, for instance. Who knew, really?
Hitomi finished packing up her things before making her way out of the classroom. Lost in her own thoughts, she almost forgot about the project as her thoughts wandered to the dance. Unfortunately, she only too soon realized her daydreams and snapped back into reality, realizing that she'd already started down the hallway. Best go back, she reasoned and turned around. After all, she and her partner would first have to decide what to do their project on, and after that would be all the research and actual work toward the project. It was certainly a hassle, but Hitomi planned on working hard nonetheless. After all, if she kept her grades up, her parents would surely notice, wouldn't they? Especially if she got a fantastic grade on this project.
ooc: I'm sorry for rambling a bit xD I left it kind of open ended, or tried to, so you could kind of work around what you wanna do with Kyou-chan :3 if it needs to be altered just let me know!~

He would normally have been paired with Tamaki, but seeing as they were no longer in the same class that wasn’t the case anymore. He had been paired with a newer student, whose name he wasn’t familiar with. Kuramae, Hitomi. Hurm, I do think her father owns a theater company… not that my family has much to do with them… that could be why I don’t know her very well. I do suppose I could look her up tomorrow, but for now I should find her so I can tell her how we will be doing this project.
His eyes dashed up and began to look around for the girl, but he realized that he was soul person in the room. What a shame, I guess I will have to do this project on my own and slap her name on it. In all actuality he wasn’t disappointed in the fact he couldn’t find her, he would do the project on his own get A’s and leave it at that. With his books in his bag, he slung it over his shoulder and was on his way to the library. Getting good grades happened to be something fairly easy for Kyoya to accomplish, but it certainly didn’t impress his father. (His brothers had already stayed at the top of their class, it was nothing new. Kyoya thought that the Host Club would prove to his Father that he was the right choice to be the heir, but then again it didn’t matter – he was no longer a part of the host club.)
Kyoya still hadn’t figured out a way to break the news to Tamaki and the other hosts. It would certainly break their hearts, and while Kyoya was cold blooded he wasn’t heartless. I have to break it to them gently. The teen blinked with a bland expression on his face as he walked down the hall, thinking about how to say it to his former host club members. It was only after a moment that he realized there was someone in front of him. “Excuse me, I assume you are my partner for this project.”

It wasn't often that Hitomi became dreamy or forgot things. However, when those moments did come, it was always when she was thinking of dance. Dance would always require concentration, but when she was only thinking about it and not doing it, all concentration on anything else would be lost and she would be lost in a daydream. Luckily for her, this happened to be rare and usually was when she was alone. Unfortunately, though, today was not the case, and so she found herself hurrying back to the classroom and hoping that she didn't look stupid. She hated that; she also didn't want her partner to think that she was lazy and was trying to skip out on the project. Laziness was one of the traits she hated most, after all, and to have it associated with herself would be near unbearable.
Sooner rather than later, she found herself facing said partner. Or at least she thought. Her suspicions were soon proved correct as he recognized her as his partner. She merely looked at him as he stated his assumption before finally replying, "If you're Kyoya Ootori, then yes." she did not mean to sound so sarcastic, but the statement was blunt and to the point as usual. She sounded a bit cold, even, though she did not mean it altogether. There was no need in her mind for petty talk and introduction when he clearly knew who she was, and she him, and so she did not bother to introduce herself. If he was going to take such a thing to offense, then so be it.
While she waited for a response, though to what she wasn't sure, Hitomi took the time to inspect (though not obviously- much more discreetly, rather) her project partner. Glasses, dark hair, tall... he certainly looked the type to be intelligent, and now that she remembered, he did seem to do well in class. Well, with any luck, he would prove her assumptions to be right for the second time that day, and working with him would give her a good grade on the project. Meanwhile, amidst those thoughts, her amber eyes rested on his own dark ones as she waited for him to make the first move. He seemed like the type, anyway- she guessed he might want to be the one to take charge on the project. Not like she'd be willing to give him total command, of course, especially with her blunt nature, but she'd humour him for a moment to see what he'd do.
